In 1999, I fulfilled my desire for the love of food and cooking and opened Aleo Italian Specialties in Lincroft, NJ.  I proudly named the business after my grandfather Pasquale Aleo who was from Sicily, Italy.  He had a passion for cooking from when he was a child.  When he came to America he continued his passion for cooking and worked in several New York City restaurants. I'll always remember Sundays of my childhood which was our traditional family day. My grandfather would cook, and we would enjoy family time together. I was always intrigued with what he was making and how he made it and I would always want to help him cook. I always looked forward to his Sunday Sauce with meatballs or my favorite, Hot Sauce with scungilli and calamari.  I would watch him and ask questions as I helped him prepare our meals. He always took such pride in preparing fresh authentic meals for our family and it gave him great pleasure to see us all devour every bite.
